Digital Capture and Proof
In order to print photos and fine art reproductions, we must have a digital version of the file. If a digital version is already available as a file that can be uploaded or sent on some kind of removable media such as a CD or USB drive, then this service would not be necessary. If, however, you would like a reproduction done from original art, photos or transparencies, then you would need to purchase the digital capture service.
This service includes scanning or digital capture of originals or transparencies with the initial color correction and a printed proof. If you are adding this to an order that includes the printing after the proof is approved, the proof will be printed on the same material you have selected for the final print. If you are only ordering the Digital Capture and Proof, be sure to specify in the Special Instructions what material you would like us to use for proofing.
The initial proof may be sufficient in some cases, but for a more precise match to the original, additional color correction and proofs may be required. It's not uncommon for a total of 2-3 rounds of color correction and proofing to be necessary for a very close match to the original. If scanning from transparencies, additional color correction may be required.
